Please add native snowshoeing activity on watch!

The title says everything.

We already have the activity type in Garmin Connect and it is an excellent sport for pandemic winter times.

Other competitor watches do have a native activity type for that and quite frankly my Fenix 6 has much more niche activities, at least compared to what I see when going outside in my country.
Having to manually edit both activity type and name, all while ignoring the fact that the icon show a pair of skis is just too amateurish for a watch like a Garmin Fenix 6.

So please Garmin, add "Snowshoeing" activity for Fenix watches.

Thank you very in advance.

  • Ya, I agree.

I made my own snowshoeing activity using a copy of "Climb", and functionally it works fine (aside from having to manually change the activity type every time), but it's silly that an outdoor adventure watch has a native Pilates activity but not a snowshoeing one. It's got like 7 different activities for various types of skiing, but no snowshoeing.

Yes please! Snowshoeing does not correlate well to any of the existing activities and leads to inaccurate measurement for daily totals. Trekking on snowshoes, particularly off groomed trails, is very high energy even when flat terrain.  While climbing or XC skiing may correlate somewhat for uphill, descent will not. Ability to select groomed versus off trail would be ideal, but I would be happy with even a basic option. Thank you!

Snowshoeing, E-Bike, Rollerblading....  Where does it end?  Are people not aware of the activity app "Other"?  The sole purpose of this app is so user's can record any activity their heart desires.  You can choose any data field you want to record in the app.  What metric makes snowshoeing so unique that it needs it's own native app?

If the argument is nothing more than I want something that says snowshoeing or a competitor has it as native, then that's really weak.

  • To make a long story short you’re not absolutely interested in the topic but nonetheless you found the time to tell how little important it is to you.

    Thanks, very useful.

  • You can do your own snowshoeing... I vote NO!

  • I like that idea.Thumbsup Garmin, please add this. Btw: have to look in which shape my snow shoes are, due to corona, I haven’t used them for almost 1 year...and because of Corona restrictions in Germany (I live on sea level and here wasn’t snow for years), I can’t travel to the German mountains at the moment.

  • This year is snowing so much around us, sometimes even on hills. It’s ten years it didn’t snow that much.

Last year I almost lost my hope of snowshoeing on anything but the higher Alps. This year pretty much all the closer and more affordable Appennines are covered with almost 2 meters of frozen powder. So beautiful!

  • Wow who knew Snowshoeing would affect people so deeply GrinGrin

I know it's not a native app and it costs $$$ but Snowshoeing is in this app https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/27dfb7e5-900f-4c2d-80ab-c57015f42124

I find F3B apps pretty good and you can also add the weight of the gear you are carrying, so a bit more flexibility
