When I create a workout in Garmin Connect, and set a heart rate zone target, my Fenix 6 shows this datascreen.

I want to configure this for other activities too, but when I enter the data screen setup screens, this screen is not even shown in the active screens.Who can tell me what data fields are beeing used here for the heartrate here?

  • This is a special workout screen which is shown during programmed workouts only. The top data field is a target data field which shows the programmed target for the current workout step (hr zone target in this case), and I believe it is not available as a user-selectable data field, however it should appear for other activities as long as you set a HR zone target for the workout step.

Thanks for the reply! I was hoping a screen similar to this screen was also available on the Edge 530, but starting a programmed workout does not show a screen like this. Do you happen to know if it is possible?

  • This screen is not customizable except that the top half will show you the range that you need to be in according to the target data that you have set in your structured workout, such as heart rate or pace.

Just create workouts with HR targets for the other activities you want.

  • There are a multitude of data fields available on the 530.  I've setup a Workout profile that includes data pages that display workout type data.

  • As stated above- this is a special screen for programmed workouts, where the top half is the target range you set.  It could be HR, Zone, Pace- whatever parameter you've selected for the range you want to stay within.

However- if you put your HR (or HR zone?) in the top field of any custom screen- it will give you the arrow and colors.

Looks like the data field are HR Zone in the top, the time for the step of workout that you're on, on the left, and the average pace for that step on the right.  You could certainly replicate this with lap time and lap pace.  The bottom field indicates that you're on a repeating step in the workout, the 1st of 4.  Such as if you were doing 4 x 400, and this is the first one.

It's a very handy screen- but mostly makes sense when you are doing intervals or a workout with specific steps/laps in it with target paces or HR range.
