strange file in REMOTESW F6S

I looked in my REMOTESW folder and found two files and I think it should only be one file (CPE.BIN).

This 006B330003.GCD file is there and I can by mistake copied it there in a previous Beta software update.

Can it be that this file is for the PRO/Wifi version and I have the standard 6S non PRO?

So when I reboot the F6 does not recognize it an just leave it there.

Can I delete this file with out risk anything?

From my past observations, HRM strap software updates seem to get sent to all watches and bike head units that were previously paired to the strap. The update file only gets ‘consumed’ from the watch/head…

Do you have an HRM strap paired with this watch? That might be a firmware update for that.

Hmm yes, a HRM-PRO.

With version 7.10 that is updated from GCM.

From my past observations, HRM strap software updates seem to get sent to all watches and bike head units that were previously paired to the strap. The update file only gets ‘consumed’ from the watch/head unit that delivers the update; all other watches you have retain the file in the Remote SW folder forevermore. It’s benign behaviour really. I guess as you updated the HRM Pro from GCM, the same is true and the watch was still sent the update file, but never consumed it updating the strap.

Interesting so do you think it will be “downloaded” again if I deleted it?

I'm genuinely not sure; I've usually just left the file there. You could do the test to find out (you're not going to 'hurt' the watch by deleting something from the RemoteSW folder).

Don't delete it. Save the file on your computer and you can always put it back if necessary.
