Correct step counting while riding

I use a fenix 6s as clock and am a rider. I have created a category for riding based on the sport of running. Distance, heart rate etc. is displayed correctly, I only mess up the step counting, because my horses naturally take more steps than I do :-)

Do you have a solution for this? Garmin itself does not offer a native riding app?

What strap are you using to measure horse's heart rate?

Back in the old days of MotionBased (before garmin took MB) there were riders using the FR305 with their horses. I do not think the MB forums are archived anywhere. Seilogramp may recall/know.

Yes Former Member (April) was one of those riders that used an HRM on her horse. She hasn't posted here in 10 years?

Thanks for your feedback - but the discussion goes in the wrong direction. I'm not interested in the heart rate but in the steps that need to be adjusted, because they falsify the step result of the activity. Is there a tip for this?

Other than turning off ActivityTracking during your ride, no.

You can try to make riding activity based on watersports like Surf or Kayak, however, Running is the closest profile anyway, especially when you have a belt with Running Dynamics function.
