Battery Drain on Fenix 6X Saphire with firmware 12.20

I have battery drain on my new Fenix 6X Saphire which I have had for a couple of weeks.

Within last 18 hours the battery percentage is down 23 % even though the watch was in power save mode for 7 of these hours with just about everything turned off as I do not wear the watch at night anyway.

This is the built in watch face that I currently use:

 .

Garmin - Let me know what you need of info from me like logs and stuff.

I am thinking of downgrading to previous firmware version but I would like to help fixing this to help solve this in the next firmware version.

  • Given all the messing around you've done with all the different versions of software there's probably little surprise you're having problems. You've probably done more to cause the problems with your watch than Garmin could ever do.

What versions of software do you have? These or some other combination?

    GPS: 5.00
    Sensor Hub: 8.00
    ANT/BLE/BT (Pro models): 6.11
    ANT/BLE (non-Pro models): 2.11
    Wi-Fi (Pro models only): 2.60

    Would you post a screenshot?

  • I've done a master reset and a total fw upgrade by garmin assitance in remote with pc...they dump me to the f6x the new fw (at time, it was the 12.20 on thursday).
They said me to wait almost 3 days to ask for an rma...but the situation is the same as before (also with the new beta)

  • Don't forget that also a lot of other people like me has the same problem, same battery drain, from the same days from the same FW update.
it's not a single case as you can see on this post.

  • same battery drain, from the same days from the same FW update.

No, that is not correct. There are many different messages. For some it started on 10.10. For others at 11.10 and again for others only at 12.20. And others have no problems with it. For some, the problem was solved again after reinstalling the FW. Not for others.

The problem cannot therefore be restricted to a specific FW version.

Downgraded to 11.10, still fancing huge battery drain

  • I can suggest to you to change your nick in:"garmin_lawyer" ;-)
Because the only answer to te posts is to correct the users, but I don't see any solution provided by your omniscience that works. Better yet, i don't see an interest to solve the problem.
Oh: the name of the post seems to be clear ;-)

  • I don't see any solution provided by your omniscience t

How am I supposed to have a solution to this problem if not even Garmin has a solution yet. However, if you look at the other threads, you will find that I have made a suspicion about this problem several times.

Your way of using an incompatible sns 2.53 that is more than a year old in connection with a current FW is not solution-oriented.

You do such questionable experiments and keep complaining.

    Useful?

i don't see an interest to solve the problem.

Oh, as I had already suggested, reinstalling the same FW brought the solution for some. Not for others.

    Why is that? Ask Garmin.

If you continue to complain, send them your logs so that they can see which incompatible software versions you are using at the same time.

Given all the messing around you've done with all the different versions of software there's probably little surprise you're having problems. You've probably done more to cause the problems with your watch than Garmin could ever do.

Yes, as you can see, the creator of the thread was able to solve the problem for himself:

  • As previously, your concern is to be the "first of classmate" but for me, for a lot of others, as i yet said, the solutions is not provided.

A forum is a place of discussions, where users exchange opinions, feedback and other stuff. Be like "ehy Man, you are stupid" is outcome for netiquette (and also for intelligence).

Ask for AN rma is the common solution for allthing, but also a neucence to stay 20 days without our product.

So, please, because there are multiple users with same problem, if you don t have a solution o a hypothesis of solution, is smarter if we can't post any "personal pride post"

    Bw

  • there are multiple users with same problem,

If you mean battery problem, there are messages.

however, you are wrong when you write that it is generally at 12.20. There are very different reports on this. Some had one FW earlier, others two FW earlier, others still haven't.

I proceed with an RMA on garmin

Replace your device and then don't experiment with different peripheral software in connection with a current main software. old peripherals often do not match the current FW.

installing on the various versions of FW the sensor hub 2.53 beta

And do not load any dubious battery widgets.

    Problem solved.

  • Brilliant solution...as said noone has ever think to a RMA Smiley

Could be interesting if "someome" suggest the solution to "charge it frequently". could be also a smart answer due to the level of answer received.

ah...as for info, hrm, pulse Ox, ABC works well also with old Sensor hub. The hub contain infos for pairing external sensors and devices. In watch mode the f6 works anyway.
