Hi  I get a suggestion

What does this mean ? The entire workout should last 49 minutes (tells me the suggestion )

  • You can show the steps for the suggested workout. There is more info there.

  • 2 times 4 sets of 10 second at a pace of 2:45

Hello I have a similar suggestion (sprint 2x4x0:10@3:05/Km for 49:00).That means that I have to do 2 times 4 sets of 10 second at a pace of 3:05 but how could be the entire workout 49 minutes?Thank you in advance .My best regards

  • I am not sure but probably warm up and cool down. If you go into suggest work out via the start/stop button and then again start/stop you see Do workout and underneath the steps if you scroll to steps and then start/stop button you can see exactly how the suggested workout is built up via the up and down button you can scroll through it

  • Where do you get These suggestions from guys? I"m on 12.20 and cant find any Such screen with suggestions?

IN which widget you See this?

  • Run> Training> Workouts> Today's Suggestion

  • You can also access Today's Suggested Workout from the Calendar

Why does Garmin duggest these 10/15 second all out sprints when it simply cannot track them accurately or consistently at all ? Any suggestions on how to improve this?

  • There is no device that can track sprints of this duration accurately. Period.

There is no way that you can expect to follow the pace suggestions for that short time either.

There is no way your heart rate will reach the suggested value in that short time either.

The way to treat these sprint workouts is to run hard-out for the suggested time and not focus on the pace or heart rate.

Completely agree with the pace and heart rate suggestions it throws up , just.go as hard as you can until it beeps

However I have a few spots I like to use and use hard points as my start and finish line (lamppost and bus stop roughly 100 or so meters apart ) so I have a fairly decent idea of what I'm doing

For the longer slower stuff it's pretty faultless but the accuracy of the sprints is mad , (first it suggested I ran at just over 4:30 Pace...barely above the warm up , the second down to 2:30 but then the inconsistency by as much as a minute from recorded distance and pace is mad) , would think it could.throw a GPS ping the second it starts and finishes and calculate the distance in between , I'm not expecting anywhere near 100% but for some to read as 0.4 and others 0.11 even tho id argue less than 10 or 15 meters difference between the efforts shows something must be off

Alot of the guys in the club have had similar results I'm just surprised it hasn't flagged at Garmin and they look to see what can be done , in theory most people will find a fairly flat , straight stretch of road 100 meters or so  to do these on , wondered why my suggestion of a hard GPS ping at second 1 , second 5 and second 10 wouldn't be more effective in giving more useable and consistent results

Who knows maybe with gallelio over the next few years the shorter stuff will improve
