Native analogue watch face

Hello everyone,

I am, so far, a happy new 6x user. Reading through several post regarding watch faces, I found someone saying that his native analogue watchface updates the heartrate field every second when he tilts his wrist. Mine doesn't...

Seconds goes on but the heart rate is rather an average then a every second update.

Am I missing something? I would like this feature, too.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Best regards!

  • That would also interest me very much.
I also use an analog watch face from Garmin with a second hand.
The second hand fades out after a few seconds if you don't move the watch.
The data field with the heart rate is not updated every second.
Not even regularly while the second hand is running.
I suspect it is an energy-saving function that the heart rate is not updated every second.
But I would also like to know if you can change that in the settings.

    Hello,

there is a watch face on CIQ from Garmin itself that can display the live heart rate, so I really do not understand why the native one can't...

Maybe the next update will bring us relieve...

  • The native watch faces are designed to minimize battery usage. This means they generally do NOT update every second - even the second hand deactivates after 30 seconds unless you turn your wrist. This is one of the reasons the Fenix series offer 14-21 days of battery life, while many competitors struggle to last into the 2nd day.

If you want to see your HR in real time, use the HR widget (I have HR as the first widget in the widget loop, so can be accessed with a single button press). Or look at some of the CIQ watch faces.

True, but coming from the 5 plus, where there was the live heart rate on nearly every native digital and analogue watchface and the battery lasts really long, it is quite hard understandable.

  • Yes and the F6 battery life tends to be longer than the 5+ plus all things being equal.

To be fair nearly everything is better on my new f6 then it was on my 5+.

Sensors are more accurate(tested against  professional equipment), screen is better, the start button is ways better engineered (no sticking in anymore) and battery life using native wfs( doing 4 to 5 1hour trainings a week) is more then a week!

    Cheers and stay prudent!
