System:
- Fenix 6X Pro: 11.10
- Komoot 2.5.2
- Activity: Navigate with Follow Course option
This is what I do:
1) Plan a course (hiking, around 20 km) on my computer in Komoot
2) Make it available offline on my Fenix via the Komoot app
3) Drive to the starting point of the course
3) Start the course via activity Navigate with Follow the Course option set
Now, depending on the length of the route and how quickly a GPS fix is found, I have to wait around 10 - 20 minutes on location until my watch finishes calculating the route and I can begin to walk. I understand the watch needs its time to calculate the route, nevertheless, this is a huge annoyance.
What I have tried already:
- Start the route via the Komoot app: it starts considerably faster. Downside: no TBT navigation.
- Start Navigation when still at home: the route is calculated from my home, not the starting point of the course.
It would be best if the watch could somehow pre-calculate the route while I'm still at home, so I'd only have to start the course when on location.
How do you guys navigate long routes/hikes?
