Autodetect MaxHR?

My watch Fenix 6x Pro has Auto detection max HR enabled - but my HR zones and max HR is still the same 172 value I have manually inputed years ago.

I see that several workouts I have done recently my maxHR has been higher - these are CrossFit workouts btw, not RUN.

I thought that the maxHR would update automatically - and this plays into the VO2max calculations?

I have the same problem. Max HR (even during Runs) is not updating itself automatically and I even use a Garmin Chest Strap.

  • Hi,

In Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM ) go to User settings- > HR Zones -> Enable Run specific HR zones for running and choose "% of Max HR"

If you have auto detection of Max HR enabled on your watch, and run with a HR monitor connected, you should see the Max HR update after you have done a Max HR workout to find your peak HR.

I do not believe the max HR will update outside the three sport specific HR zones found in GCM. (Run, Bike, Swim)
