Heart rate sensor with Tactix Delta

Hey, guys, I already have Polar OH1 plus that I use with my Tactix Delta Solar, will I benefit from getting HRM pro and using that with the watch? Thank you!

  • If you get all you want out of the OH1+ then no but if you want any of this then yes...

  • Your watch supports real-time optical wrist HR while swimming but that may be of dubious accuracy. The Garmin HRM-Pro, HRM-Tri, and HRM-Swim have more accurate HR for Garmin watches swimming with Garmin watches in a store and forward mode. You don’t get the chest HR data until after the activity ends.

The other feature you get from Garmin HRM-Pro, HRM-Tri, and HRM-Run is Running Dynamics — which are pretty cool, but there is no guidance on what to do with them.

In general a chest electrode is probably more responsive and accurate with less latency than an optical sensor but the OH-1 is supposed to be very good as an optical sensor.

Overall there probably isn’t a compelling reason to run out and get the HRM-Pro unless the OH-1 is not meeting your needs in some way.
