Fenix 6 Pro or 6X Pro

Hi there, I am looking to upgrade from a Fenix 5. I am looking at the Fenix 6Pro, however I am finding the price difference between the 2 is only about 15 USD (6X Pro on sale in one of the shops).

Logically, think makes sense to go for the 6X pro but am worried about being too big/heavy. Also I have an existing set of 3rd party 22mm watch bands which will work with 6 series I think but dont want to lose out if the 6X is the right watch to go for.

Any opinions from current owners of either watches please? For reference, I am a big bloke with big hands, so usually big watches are not an issue but fenix 5 is too big at times.

I'm not a big guy. I was worried Fenix 6x would be way too big. It isn't. Definitely glad I got the one with the bigger screen and battery.

When it comes to the "optical" size, I can recommend the tactix delta. It has the same physical size as the f6x pro, but looks smaller due to the bezel.

Someone posted a size comparison of the Fenix 3HR, Fenix 5X and Fenix 6X and the latter is NOTICEABLY smaller because the lugs have been redesigned to move the pins closer together.

Where the Fenix 5X was "tall" enough the band hung straight down off my wrist, the 6X is small enough that bands actually "wrap" around like they should. You can see this in the spec sheets: Garmin specs the 6X for much smaller wrist circumferences than the 5X. (edit - they took the specs off the F5X page but it was smaller)

Big plus of the 6X is battery life - they can squeeze a bigger cell into the case.

If weight is a concern, get a titanium variant of the F6X - it cuts 12grams off the case weight. (though at considerable expense)

As far as looks and feel goes, I think it's purely personal preference. For me, average sized guy, I'm very happy I went with the F6X. I love the easier reading fonts and longer battery life.
