How to remove skimap from fenix 6x pro.

I want to remove skimap from my fenix 6x pro. I found in google and this forum that what I needed is to remove .img files. I deleted img files although still can see on Garmin Express that this maps is installed on my device.

Should I remove some other files to complety get rid of skimap?

Chances are there’s something else going on but removing the maps and reinstalling them is as good a place as any to start.

Golf maps also have their own .dem files. These should also be removed since they are a part of the golf maps and might actually be the biggest source of the problem.

Can you still see it on the watch? If not, ignore what Express say.

The reason was that my device is turining on for over 30 miuntes and it stucking on loading maps steps.

How did you remove the maps? You could simply force a reinstall of the maps from GARMIN Express and see it that makes a difference.

There was a problem a few weeks ago when the latest maps were released. The problem appeared related to the installation of more than one of the three golf course maps. Ski maps were never the problem.

However, that problem seems to have been put to bed a long while ago. Are you on the latest firmware, since that might have been part of the solution? Failing that, if you want to remove maps in the pursuit of a fix I'd suggest the golf maps as the place to start, or maybe all maps, but when reinstalling try to limit yourself to only one golf map, or none at all if you don't need them.

don‘t delete the basemap gmapbmap.img

No problem. Each of the golf maps has its own copy of the dem file and they are all named the same so they overwrite each other when more than one is installed. When the problem was first reported there was no issue with only one golf map (and associated dem file) downloaded. It was only when a second or third golf map was downloaded that it started going wrong.

Interestingly, on my 5X+, the golf maps do not include any dem files with them.

Your are right. I removed golf curses map from device and problem has been solved.
