connection failed freezes

I tried setting up Amazon Music and when I tried to connect the account, I didn't get the code right the first time and the watch displayed a White X on a red background at 12 o'clock with the message Connection failed. I don't carry my charging cable around all the time so when the battery died and I recharged it everything worked and I set it up sucessfully and kept going about my business.

Today, I tried to connect to my phone's mobile hotspot so I selected the network on the watch and entered the password but had the hotspot at 5GHz which I realized while it was trying to connect, then I switched the phone to 2.4 GHz but got the exact same error and the watch is froze again.

Is this a known issue? Any fixes out there?
