Same here.. after this mew update in the morning.. my battery is down from 100% to 68% within 9 hours... Bluetooth off, wifi off, pulse ox off.. keeping my usual settings as before.. when i used to ha…
I use 100% battery in 20 hours on a Fenix 6s pro which I’ve only had for 10 days. Was fine before update
HI, I have just had the same thing. Updated to latest release last night with watch charged 100% and this morning its down to 62% afte sitting on my desk all night, no wifi running, no bluetooth running…
Called support, told them all my troubleshooting steps. That was pretty much it.
Hi All.
From 2 months until yesterday I used fw beta 16.70 ver. Everything was OK with battery life and watch. Yesterday I fount new ver. 17.73 with update gps to ver 5.30. And battery started drain dramatically, 25% over night. today morning i did full factory reset, but not help. 1% per 1h without any activity. I already downgrade to 16.70 (gps is still updated to 5.30) and I think back to normal again. I'll observe situation. I think 16.70 is best stable version. 17.733 has lot of fixes but is still not optimized . Strange. Maybe this post will help you. My watch is Fenix 6 standard.
sort of makes sense as 16.70 is latest stable official version whereas 17.73 is a beta version. If you go onto the forum link for this beta version you will see lots of comments around the current issues.
Well folks, 28 days since all my success and digital bliss. Unfortunately my F6 started loosing battery fast again, for no known reason. Did not add any extras or widgets, watch faces or special apps. Just stock as a test.
Did a full factory reset with no good result.
Downloaded beta 17.40, installed, charged, same battery loss over 24 hours.
Re-installed 16.70 again, no fix. Same battery loss.
I will try one more factory reset and test.
Something tells me that Garmin has a bug that is affecting the most basic functions of the watch. If you have two versions of software, 16.xx and 17.xx, clearly it has to be something they are not looking at.
Will report back.
Been sick with a rather bad bronchitis and could not work out. Thus no activities on the watch. I might be able to get 12 days out of the 6s pro without activities, without oxy, without music and messaging and low lighting. That's something. Add 30-60 minutes of activity per day and the drain is still fast.
I ended up contacting Garmin support since I had tried everything including a factory reset. I used email which is slower then calling but I wanted to be able to detail all the troubleshooting so I wouldn't have to repeat things I already did and email was the best way for that. Took a few days for them to get back to me (like I said, slower then calling) but they agreed that I had done all I could and offered to exchange it for a refurbished unit even though my watch was almost 2 years old. I would have been willing to pay since it was still cheaper then buying a new watch but they offered it for free so nice job Garmin.
Got the replacement this last weekend and there is a dramatic difference in battery life. And just like when I've had a Garmin refurbished watch in the past it looks just like new.
Exact same experience I had. I've had my refurb for almost a month (got it on the 15th) and I only just charged it yesterday (it still had 6% charge left). This is with a 3rd party watchface (SHN TxD), a couple widgets and activities every other day, no pulseox, but all other settings are default.
Did more research on this forum, tried deleting the Garmin.xml file.
15 hours into last full charge, down 13%.
Stay tuned.
Mine started draining about 25% per day. Tried all the usual stuff including a full reset. Nothing helped. Never updated with any of the beta's or installed any watch faces/widgets/etc...
Contacted Garmin and they instructed me to email them GARMIN folder from the watch, so I did. They emailed me back and told me they would replace the watch. Got the new one yesterday and shipped the old one back today.
I charged the new one to 100% last night, it's been pretty close to 24 hours now and it's down to 96% (and that is with a 1 hour GPS activity today).
Damn! Garmin would send me a new watch, but only if I send them this one first. The whole process will take at least two weeks during which I won't have a watch. That's just unacceptable.
