Battery drain fast

after recent software update, My fenix 6 sapphire battery drain so fat that one night 40% battery run off. would you please advise what's wrong? thanks!

  • If your watch is not lasting a day from full charge in its ‘natural’ state then you likely have a defective watch. I would suggest you contact Garmin Support.

FWIW my F6 Solar Pro has seen no battery discharge issues apart from shortly after I put an IQ app on to see what the battery discharge rate was - this was on 12.xx or something. Since I took it off and have been on 13.xx I’ve seen no issues with excessive battery consumption.

  • I have had this too battery drain on Fenix 6 Pro :( recently updated and it dropped to 2% overnight from 60% after a treadmill activity

  • I turned off "broadcast heart rate" from menu>sensors and accessories>wrist heart rate, then restarted and that helped

  • This is OFF by default and hasn't changed anything for me, still draining from 100% to 20% during the day, and doesn't make it til the morning.   Keeping in my i've reset the phone and have it all on the default settings, with sleep mode on...

I am having the same issue since Friday on a Garmin Fenix 6X Saphire, gone from charging every third week to every second day, despite trying all the tips on the forum it doesn't want to clear. May return the watch as faulty. Poor software management by Garmin

  • Other things I tried (as well as turning off broadcast HR) were turning off wifi, restarting a couple of times, deleting unneeded alarms and apps, keeping Garmin app force closed on my phone. seems to be ok now

  • I had the same issue and also did all of the steps above. Some were short term fixes. Over time it just got worse again. Contacted garmin and they asked me to bring the watch in to the technical team for repair.

Report came back that is was a faulty battery. Garmin replaced my watch as it was still under warranty (10 months).

Installed the 13.10 firmware on new watch. BT on and connected to phone all day. Battery drain 0.134% per hour. About 3% per day.

Running now 18days on the first charge and 12 days (43%) left.

My guess is some of the batteries go faulty due to incorrect management, than needs to be replaced..

Will see in a couple of months. All i can say my first watch did not perform this god out of the box (battery wise)

  • Sounds like maybe you got a defective battery in the first place then. I'm pretty certain most people's issues isn't from the same thing though, if it was working fine before and then after an update it went wonky. I'm pretty certain it has to do with programming sloppiness/data corruption and not resetting things in the watch after an update or change. For my situation rebooting a few times both app and watch seems to work, changing settings is never the cause (I extremely rarely change sensor use and would notice the correlation) and changing them doesn't help. More commonly than the watch devouring battery all of the sudden is sudden changes in sunset/sunrise times to negative times...happens with a couple different watch faces and ofc nothing has been touched, it just changed to estimating the sunrise at -2:09AM recently for example...

  • Garmin just replaced my watch and i'm back to normal.

  • Garmin still keep silence about that problem?  No any reminds in the app updates
