- Support variable playback speed in 0.1 intervals until at least x2 speed [most desired feature].
- Remember the stop time per book [also important].
- Ensure one timeline per book even if it is cut into multiple files.
- Show time remaining, taking into account current speed setting.
- Allow switching between books respecting point 2.
- Remember the stop times across firmware updates.
- Implement auto-rewind proportional to pause time.
- Support chapter navigation and better rewind in long files.
- Support jumping to desired time.
I see 11.10 mentions something about 'music' but with no details. These features are missing on 10.10 making audiobook experience poor to the point of giving up in favor of another device (phone).
In general, please stop thinking about the audio interface in terms of music. I NEVER listen to music and the community of people who use audiobooks (as standalone files) or downloaded podcasts is now very large (you could market to people beyond the typical). Each listening style deserves its own interface controls.
Refer to Smart Audiobook Player on Android for an excellent example.
Thanks.
