Fenix 6 Series - 11.10 Public Release Candidate

Hello Fenix 6 customers,

This software version is our next Public Release Candidate. This means that this software will become a public update, as long as we do not identify any critical bugs in this version. We would appreciate any feedback on v11.10. (Whether you install 11.10 now or wait for the official release in a few days, the v11.10 "release candidate" or "public release update" software will be identical.)

Please ensure that you are downloading the correct beta software for your specific device.

  • I don't understand why exactly this version is in the public release rollout  As I remember the version number was increased for the public version as well isn't it?

  • Anyone else have spotty notifcations on ios? I have everything set correctly and they have been hit and miss on this and last firmware for me.

Prior was spot on and wondering if it is possible to use that bt version with this?? I usually do all of the betas so havw the past files.

  • Hi,

Great.  Yes, do let me know.

Mine still has not synced overnight.  Annoying!

  • I only just installed this update 8 hours ago, but so far I'm not getting this battery issue that's been reported by many in here. After 8 hours it's still showing 100% / 20 Days. Going camping for a few days tomorrow, will report back here if that or any other issues come up.

Edit: 12 hours after install, battery at 99% / 20 days. So all seems good so far, but I haven't recorded an activity yet which will be the real test.

  • I've had 11.10 installed for a few days now.  Here is what I'm seeing:

    - Heavy batter drain as others have stated.  I'd estimate 30-50% more drain.

    - Sleep tracker overestimating awake time has not been fixed for me.  Still showing 1-2hrs awake a night which wasn't the case when it was running Garmins' in-house algo.

    - On a bright note, Body Battery seems to be working much better.  Ever since sleep tracking algo was changed from cloud/Garmin in-house, Body Battery has been useless for me, always very low even when I get 8hrs of sleep and chill all day.  Most likely cause of the over estimation in my wake time.  This seems to have been remedied with the 11.10 update.  Which is awesome as I love the Body Battery.

    - Other than that, everything else seems to be working the same.

  • On my first night after installing this I had no sleep data.  That's fine, that has happened before on the first night and then it is fine after that, and is very accurate for me.  But on my second night (last night) my watch is showing my sleep data but it is not syncing to Connect.  Everything else is syncing, just not the sleep data.  It's on my watch though.  Weird.

  • I don't understand why exactly this version is in the public release rollout  As I remember the version number was increased for the public version as well isn't it?

It was released as a 'public release candidate' beta, a few days before the formal production software roll out of 11.10 started.  If any issues had been spotted whilst still beta, they could have deferred/cancelled the production roll out.  If you've already had 11.10 via Express or GCM, then there's no need/point to installing this (as it's the exact same thing).

  • Everything else is syncing, just not the sleep data.  It's on my watch though.

I had that for a couple of nights, and it turned out that my phone no longer thought it was my preferred activity tracker. I’d factory reset it and deleted it from the phone and re-paired it, thought I’d set it back as preferred, but evidently not. Guess you’ve not done that, but might be worth checking just in case.
