I have a 6 Pro and the Apple Airpod Pros are working perfectly. I do not know what you mean by "a/m devices".
I'm using the Adidas RPD-01 at the moment, though. Also working perfectly.
Extremely sorry Michael it means “above mentioned” devices. So you mean to say i should go ahead with the purchase of airpods?
Well, you only asked if they're compatible. They are ;)
I use them for almost everything except running and Yoga. They tend to move slowly out of the ear during running. That's why I'm using the Adidas headphones.
However, I can recommend them for everything else.
Thanks a lot Micheal. Your advice is of great help.
The connection works fine, maybe you'd like to consider other factors into this equation. It's common for runners to have the following requirements for a headphone:
Airpods are ok for 1, varies from person to person on 2, seems that have a feature for 3 (not sure though), and definitively not ok on 4. The microphones will rust with contact with sweat over time. A friend of mine broke his after less than a year due to that.
I made this research some months ago and bought the Aftershokz Aeropex. There are other alternatives that deal with point 3 in different ways, though, and might be cheaper.
The Airpods Pro do have an ambient sound mode that allows in outside noise using the microphones. I have a pair and they work very well for most things and actually are water resistant to IPX4 standards. They are definitely compatible with the Fenix.
However I do not use them for exercise. I already had a set of Jabra Eltie Active 65T earbuds when I got the Airpods and the Jabras are more water resistant (IP56) and are cheaper so if they got lost or damaged on a run I'd be less upset about it. They do have an ambient sound mode just like the Airpods Pro which is important to hear traffic coming. I also like that the Jabras have volume control on the earbuds, along with the usual play/pause, previous and next track. With the Airpods the volume has to be controlled on the device they're ocnnected to. Not a huge deal on a phone with volume buttons on the side but more of a pain when running and the volume control is several menus deep on the watch vs just tapping a button on the earbud.
