Decision: Fenix 6 or 6S?

So I had the Fenix 6S Sapphire for a year but it went back under warranty due to an issue I had with it.

I have the money now to buy another watch but should I use the opportunity to go bigger? I have a 16.5mm wrist. I tried on the Fenix 5 a year ago but the main issue I had with it was it would always spin around my wrist when I got really sweaty and the watch face would end up at an angle. Will the 6 be any different with the slightly reduced weight and thickness?

The Fenix 6S worked well for me running but the screen is quite small for map reading when hiking, plus I fancy a change. Should I play it safe and stick with the 6S since running is my main sport? Does the 6 look too big for my wrist?

I can buy a 6S Pro (gorilla glass) for £499 or the F6 Sapphire for £599.

I have a similar size wrist and have the 6 Pro. I dont have much issue with sliding but I wear my watch quite tight :)

There’s a lot of strap excess to deal with on the 6 though

Definitely - I have a third party strap and the end is nearly looped back to the watch...

Worth the extra screen real estate you get on the 6 vs. the 6S.

Well, not when the watch face ends up at a 45 degree angle because the heft of the watch made made it slide around your sweaty wrist. Speaking as a runner who sweats a lot!

Exactly the same wirst. I'm coming from a 645 (more or less the 6s size) and same hesitation 6 or 6s ? I've took the 6.

No regret. Better battery, bigger screen (map in trail) and not "too big look".

Fit as yours and no problem.

For the twist on the wirst, i put the buckle in the fifth hole in "today wear" mode (not so much as i'm found of real swiss watches and real horlogery in general so ... I said that but i'm suprized myself at the moment because I have the F6 on my wirst for three weeks now !!): perfect. Don't feel it (as I said, mecanical watch are a lot heavier mostly) and the WHR sensor work perfectly.

When running, it's clear the watch turns also here, and i'm also sweat a lot. I feel it (not so bad) and I'm loosing the WHR accuracy (bad). So I put in the fourth hole for running (not "today wear because the buckle marks my skin on the other side when tight like that so I prefer losing by one in "today wear" mode) and, now, it's perfect (include WHR, no problem here).

I have small wrists and cane to the Fenix series from the 245. I loved the size of that and it suited my wrists so I went for the 6S, no regrets, can see the screen fine.

I have same wrist and wear 6 Solar, but I also had 5+ before that. Never had problem with the size. For some more formal occasions, it could be cool to have smaller watch, and I'd agree that 6S looks better to some, but it's more of a personal preference. The battery life difference is pretty significant. For me, that's probably bigger argument than the screen.
