I would like to be able to skip songs and pause from my garmin when I'm playing music on a speaker or computer. Is it possible?

Thanks

  • Thank you for taking the time to offer these specifics.  This is exactly the information for which I was looking.

  • Yes you can do that - in the following scenario:

Your music is being played from your phone as its source. Meaning, you are using some sort of music app ON YOUR PHONE to be the source of the music - such as Spotify, Slacker Radio, maybe the built-in music app on whatever device you have, etc etc - but your phone is where the music originates.
You ALSO have your speaker(s) or computer or whatever listening source connected to your phone, like with Bluetooth for example.
You ALSO have your watch connected to your phone via Bluetooth.

Bottom line - your watch can act as a sort of 'remote control' for your phone's music. The speaker or whatever you plan to LISTEN TO has to be connected to your phone also. Got it? It goes like this:

    WATCH >> PHONE >> SPEAKER

There IS one other option for you - if you have your music on your watch, and you connect your speaker to your watch via Bluetooth, you could bypass the phone completely and use your watch as the music source. But - that works only with a few specific music apps, and you generally have to be a paid subscriber to that service (such as Spotify Premium, along with the other 3-4 services available).
