Swimming Activity will NOT sync to Garmin Connect

HI folks, I have a Fenix 6S Saphire, I had it for 1 year now. I am on release 9.0.0.0.

Yesterday I did a pool swim activity, which I saved as I normally do.

This activity does not sync to Garmin Connect. I can see it on the watch, but no matter how many times I sync-hed the watch the acitity does not show on Garmin Connect. This is the first time this happens/

Any ideas why this is happenning. How can I get the activity to sync?

One thought - it may be corrupt file on the watch

Connect the watch to a computer, and in the GARMIN/ACTIVITIES folders will be fit files relating to each activity
Find the one dated to the same time as the swimming activity, copy that to the computer

Go to GC Web, in the top right corner are these icons

Select the first (Cloud with an arrow) to iimport an activity amd select the fit file

great, that worked ... so how do I avoid the same issue from happenning again?

I can see there are about 193 activities in the folder (from Sept 2019 to date). I started using the 6S in June 2019. Do old activities get deleted automatically or do I need to do housekeeping? The watch (when connected to the laptop via USB) shows about 10GB free ...

It does it's own housekeeping, but there's nothing stopping you streamlining your folder. As you see, you have a lot of space.

It's not a common occurrence. I think it's happened twice in the 3 years I've had a Garmin.

I have a Fenix 6 as well and my watch is doing this often. Did you figure out what was wrong?

I have had the same problem for 3 pool swims in a row. Garmin told me they would have to replace my Fenix 6. I thought this could be solved with a software or firmware update, but I guess not. Garmin wanted to ship me a newly overhauled device. Since it is still under warranty, I am requesting a new watch for the replacement.

I think I have to do the same. How did you log a ticket with Garmin or did you just call? Mine is only a few months old and it's dropping a swim a week...I can't take it anymore

I went here and used the chat link https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?contactOverride=true&productID=641449&tab=topics. They eventually had me zip the entire Garmin folder from my watch and send it to them. It is failing to sync ALL of my swims. I swim 5 times per week, so it's very frustrating. I bought this watch in July, so I pushed for a new device as a replacement - not interested in an overhauled watch. They said a replacement won't be available until ~Dec. 11th, so I will have to live with this until then.

Im having the same problem, press save and get the garmin triangle come up and will not sync to GC is on my watch as a daily activity but not on my history anywhere else, have tried adding the file manually but says its a corrupt file and wont add, *** thing is it was a really good swim :/
