So- firstly, what functions does the Sensor Hub perform?
and- is there a list somewhere of what updates were made to it?

It controls all the onboard sensors, as well
yes, you are right...
WHR has his own firmware, so Sensor Hub has to deal with all, no other piece of software seems to be appropriate
.
GPS - clear
WiFi - clear
CIQ - connection with Connect (IQ)

hi,
from what I know is the firmware that controls the OHR sensor.
the only reference I've found is in the sticky post related to the update:
...Added support for on device sleep. (Requires Sensor Hub 7.11)
and maybe better pulse reading.... !?!?!?!....

WHR - optical sensor
ANT/BLE/BT - communication with these protocols ANT+ / Bluetooth Low Energy / Bluetooth
Sensor Hub - onboard sensor hub
Regarding sleep, only made things wors for me. Was on the bahtroom last night, so then my sleep was finished 4 oclock morning, even if i slept well to 6.30. Fortunately i give a f...... in this watch, i am old enough to feel how my night was when i wake up. Hehe , but when i manually put in the missing 2,5 hours the « sleep score» raised from 65 to 78 , but the additionally 2,5 hours was as it used to be, light sleep, not a movement. From the old sleeptracking it’s pure and simple « old ***, new wrapping».
Second day in a raw I got BT connection issues after I got this update. Watch is showing its connected in the original digital watchface.
But when using the notification widget you get a "!" That it's not connected. Only thing to get it to connect again is the reboot the watch..
So it didn't fix anything for me..
Normally you have a list of different sensors. The sensor hub is probably a daemon or library providing access to them.
Sensors in the watch are:
Pure speculation - BMX is the Pulse ox?
According to firmware changelogs, it is:
Pulse-Ox improvements (BMX version 0.4.2)

WHR has his own firmware
The WHR version depends on the sensor hub, and comes with it.
