weather widget says waiting for data on fenix 6 x after new update 4.32 version of garmin connect

last evening my i phone updated a new version of garmin connect 4.32 and post that the weather widget on my fenix 6 x says waiting for data and is not updating. I tried all tips posted on this forum but it does not work. yesterday 24th june before updating to this 4.32 connect app weather widget worked well. does anyone have a fix for this?

Hello, I had the same issue with my Fenix 6Pro, maybe after a update? Maps or soft? I don't know exactly.

I have restarted my watch, just to do OFF-ON and the weather widget works again

Check if the app has location permission if you are on android. I got a message that the app needed permission to location, seems like the permission was tuned off after the update. If so it has no connection…

Try to downgrade to a 4.31 gcm version.

Thanks a lot for your reply...i am on iphone and the location service for connect app is turned to always on.... tried reconnecting, removing device and putting back; restarting both phone and watch and also an outdoor walk with live track on .... does not work...looks like 4.32 version of connect app has a bug

It looks like a problem with GCM might have coincided with a firmware update. Bit of a pain as I did spend a bit of time going back and forth between the watch and the iPhone. Anyway, long story short is that it is working again although not as smoothly as before. I now have my F6 on 9.97 and GCM on 4.32.30 on an iPhone and back to having weather information.

I just got the same notification today on my android. The app must have been updated recently and it lost its location permission setting. Make sure you select "Always allow", not "only allow while using the app"... so that it can download local weather when the app isn't open.

I have the same problem with update 4.32. My Vivosmart 4 will no longer perform connected GPS. I have reset all the permissions as they should be, but it just doesn't work! Very frustrating....

Hi Former Member, I just purchased a Fenix6 Pro and ran into this very same issue during setup and my watch is now stuck on 'Waiting for data' when I tried updating the weather and the Garmin Connect app doesn't recognize it even after I deleted it. Any suggestions to fix this? Thanks
