Over the past year I have really struggled to get reliable functionality from my Jaybird Tarah Pro earphones. I went through 4 different ones and each had 1 or more of the following issues:
- inconsistent connection - either it would take a very long time to connect or the earphones would not connect at all unless I did a reset of my watch or earphones or both
- dropouts - the music would just stop even though the earphones was still connected, pressing play again would sometimes fix the issue
- music controls on earphones didnt always work - sometimes I could not control the volume or stop/skip music
- really high initial volume - whenever I would first connect my earphones, the starting volume was always too loud
Recently I contacted Jaybird about a warranty claim because my (4th) Tarah Pros had stopped charging past 60% even though it was only 6 months old. Because they did not have any inventory of the Tarah Pros for immediate delivery they offered me the Vistas. I have been hesitant to adopt truly wireless earphones like the Vistas, Airpods, etc because frankly I think they look goofy and I am afraid one would fall out while i was running. However, at this point I figure I had nothing to lose. I was planning on buying another pair of earphones from another brand anyway.
Long story short I am very satisfied with the Vistas. They fit my ears very well. I just got back from a 13 mile run and I could not even tell they were in my ears. Because they sit within the outline of the ears, they look more discrete than other models that hang down below the ear. Most importantly the Vistas worked very very well with my 6 Pro. It connects very quickly, the music controls work every time, and the starting volume is not too loud! My only complaint is the volume control which requires a long press of the soft button. This is awkward while running and makes fine adjustment of volume difficult. Also, if you dont press the button at the correct angle you end up forcing the earphones further into our ear. In spite of this, I definitely recommend the Vistas especially if someone is looking for true wireless earphones. On the other hand, at least from my experience avoid the Tarah Pros at all costs!
