Fenix 6 Series - 9.95 Beta Release

Hello Fenix 6 customers,

We have new software available for your upcoming adventures!

*Our 9.92 Beta for Pro models contained ANT/BLE software version 6.03, however, we believe this peripheral software update has includes a bug that could lead to phone connection problems, or disconnects from sensors/headphones. The 9.94 and 9.95 update folders contain the file needed to backdate the ANT/BLE software from 6.03 to 5.04, which we recommend that you install if you have a Pro model. The instructions for installation provided on the above links remain the same, no additional steps are needed for installing the backdate file.

Please ensure that you are downloading the correct beta software for your specific device.

9.95 Change Log Notes:

Fixed an issue with repeat and skip functions when using Spotify.
Fixed an issue where playlists with Cyrillic characters would not display correctly on device.
Fixed an issue where sensor icons were being displayed in the status bar even when disabled using a power mode.
Fixed an intermittent issue where 'Around Me' search would not complete.
Improved the visibility for Dogtrack by allowing one to pair to it through the sensors menu and automatically removing the widget once the sensor is removed.
Made a couple of improvements for golf.
Updated the UI for Body Battery and Training Status widgets.

What do you think will be tomorrow? Another beta (fourth in a row) or at last new software update? Will there be HR fix or again nothing about HR?

At least Sensor Hub 7.04 is required for sleep to be recorded.

Report it to the beta team (again if needed), saying out of activity heart rate is not working for high heart rate activities. An aside, I never get great readings with the watch so close to the wrist, just not enough blood flow through the side, better in a position between the F5 and F6

Sorry to say, but F6 OHR during activity is useless. I realized it right after I bought the watch and after short struggle I gave up...using strap during my activities. A few days ago I forgot to take the strap with me for a steep trail run/hike, so gave a chance to the OHR once more. Results are tragic. On the way up it didn`t go above 110 BPM, while it was clear that I was around 160 BPM. On the way down - light jog, it was showing above 150-160 BPM. Better accept the fact that it was not your best purchase and live with it. This will reduce the disappointment and frustration. Cheers!

Hiking activity bug (and also walking) is a known bug that has never been fixed for some reason. Only running works with OHR.

Actually, this 9.9* series beta has improved the OHR readings in walking and out of activity dramatically for me! Before that, OHR was a random number generator in my walks (ranging from 30 minutes to 2+ hours). Now, I've done a walking activity since the betas came out every day and the reult is very good. Finally, a number that can be relied on and not 20+ bpm more as before.

Is there any reason one couldn’t clone the running activity, rename hiking, and add your hiking-related fields? (I honestly don’t know, but I can’t see why not)

Maybe I missed this in previous updates, but I noticed there's a widget called "Device Usage" and it has timers for all sorts of stuff like device uptime, BLE search, connection to GCM, etc.

I also just noticed that when I stop an activity, there's an option to see my recovery heart rate timer. Pretty great additions!

Device usage is only available in the beta builds though
