When will Garmin watches work with the Keiser M3i Bluetooth converter?

I have a Keiser M3i spin bike with the Bluetooth converter.

When will the fenix watches be able to capture the data and integrate it into Garmin Connect?

I know I can export/import a TCX file into Garmin Connect.  But it's a pain in the butt and it doesn't contain heartrate data.

I can capture the activity on the watch at the same time but then it is only heartrate data for that Garmin activity.

You end up having two activities for the same time in Garmin Connect.

I know I can buy a Polar heartrate band but that's a hack.

I would like my Garmin watch to get the data from the Keiser converter (via Bluetooth) and integrate it with the watch sensors and provide one activity report for use in Garmin Connect.

  • Google it…or use link I posted above In This chat

  • hi, I am not text savy. I have the Garmin vivoactive 3. I'm not understanding how you connected both.

    Can you give more information/instructions.

    Thanks

  • Hi Rita, vivoactive 3 doesn’t use/have power profile- so you’d be better off with the real Keiser converter (as it does cadence and speed) and setup at noted in this thread by mel1s

Update nov21 - k2pi now includes Speed over ANT+ so will work with likes of vivo3 for cadence and speed(distance)

  • Hi,

i was so excited to see this post.

I tried to do what you suggested.

First my Keiser m3i has been a bit inconsistent in recording full sessions so I changed the battery on the connector and paired it. The light was on, then off. It seemed to record properly.

Then I tried to connect my new Garmin to the bike but it keeps asking me to pedal to find the sensor. Step 1-3 fine.

step 4 - could not find the sensor.

    it cannot find my bike.

Any suggestions as to how to reveal the sensors?

even searching for any sensor did not work.

could it be a Garmin problem? It did not find my plt bbfit2100 headphones either.

  • @anita step 4 isn’t a sensor - you need to just select ‘indoor bike’ exercise on your watch - on my Garmin fenix - push top right button and scroll down to ‘indoor bike’ select it and then start pedalling - your watch should find the keiser converter ‘sensor’, push button once more on watch to start the indoor bike exercise timer/ programme.

  • Hi

Problem solved with the help of Garmin.

My M Series converter Device firmware update app was not up to date.

Once this was updated, the steps provided by Mel1z then worked and it connected beautifully.

    Made my day!

  • I have been going through same hassle (Peleton on iPad and Keiser App on iPhone) for months!!! I couldn't even manage to use Split View to display both app, I think the issue is coming from the Keiser App

I just ordered the K2Pi+; I'm looking forward to receive it and test it!

  • Now my Keiser is in my bedroom.

the battery in the connector is running out very quickly.

anything I can do to stop it except disconnecting completely each time I finish a ride? Then need to reconnect each time I ride.

  • I had to disconnect the battery on the m series converter after each ride when I had it paired with my Garmin as battery did appear to go down quick otherwise - it’s a pain, but only takes 2 seconds….reconnecting is even quicker. unfortunately the keiser converters are pretty poor in comparison the the quality of the bike.

  • Do you completely power down your Keiser bike after using it?

If the Keiser Converter does have a low power mode to extend battery life it may be it will only enter it if the Keiser bike off.
