Cannot see golf hole details on my sapphire

What 'details' are you looking for? I don't use the Garmin Golf app because it annoyingly runs in the background at all times. 

I see a full color map of each hole with yardages to the FMB of the green. There is u-shaped line cutting across the hole that I can move to get a measurement to anywhere on the hole. And when I approach the green it automatically zooms into the green. From the menu I can access layup yardages and the scorecard among other things. 

I dont see any of those details. I just see yardage. I can focus on green to.move the flag

If you dont run garmin golf app what do you run?

I just use the watch while I'm golfing for yardages and to measure shot distances. The app doesn't do anything I need. 

Same here.. I just saw video where one can see the lay out and get some idea of distance to hazzards/ bunkers..thought might be handy. 

I don't know what's going on with your watch. Did you try reinstalling the golf maps? I assume you have the Fenix 6? I have the sapphire version, not sure if the pro has a scaled back set of features without the maps.

Are you sure the course you're playing is supported? I've never seen that but it's possible for whatever reason that course doesn't have a map.

One thing you can do is log into Garmin Connect on your PC and see if it says your golf maps are up-to-date. If they are, I would call email Garmin support.

I have figured out the likely problem. Once you're in the golf sport on your watch, go to settings and turn 'Big Numbers' off.
