Have anyone had time to test the new GPS 4.40, curious to hear of any improvements.
I have a ticket with Garmin about open water swims ending up being 1 m when done as part of a multisport/swimrun.

Swam with it this morning just as a swim. It was fine. - https://www.strava.com/activities/3528622325
Planning on swimming tomorrow. I’ll look at the swimrun. I did a swimrun with a 945 today as well. Swim track as gnarly as the F6 on swimrun but wife’s 945 swim only was fine.
plis add normal foto:P i dont use strava:P
maybe get strava
First run with the new 4.40 GPS firmware: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/5009222202
Was it accurate and acceptable
There is a difference between the swimrun swim and the open water swim. My feeling is that it's more to do with the watch software than the GPS version, although there is bound to be some connection. In Swimrun, the GPS processing is probably using the same algorithm as the run, whereas in OWS it's using the OWS algorithm.
This from a swim this morning with one F6 on Open Water swim, and the other on swimrun. Easy to see the difference. Despite the difference in the tracks, the distance was still good for the swims. The extra distance is because I set the swimrun going before I got into the water.
This difference between the Swimrun swim and the OWS is the same on the 945 too.
Thanks. I have talked to Garmin again and they have gathered data and are now "talking" to Garmin developers. Mainly due to some swims ending up at 1m but also the difference in swimrun ows...
Just as good as it’s always been for me:
