Fenix 6S Strap Buckle

Hello guys.

Yesterday I became the very proud owner of a Fenix 6S Pro, an upgrade from FR245M. I love the features I get on the Fenix (I was upgrading mostly for the multisport and maps) however one thing I don't like is the buckle on the strap.

On the 245, the stock band is silicone, with a silver buckle, which is slimmer than the black one on the Fenix silicone strap. It also seems to be quite pointed on the inside, and in digging into the soft bit on the inside of my wrist. I wore the 245 24/7 with no problems but after 24 hrs with the Fenix is is starting to be irritating.

Does anyone have any recommendations for alternatives please? I have seen the Nick Mankey hook ones, but they come from the US and I am in the UK, I also use my watch for OCR and swimming so after something durable and water resistant.

It's a real shame that Garmin cannot settle on one strap style for their watches, otherwise I'd but a replacement 245 strap and use that.

Thanks

  • Did you ever find a solution? I have the same problem with the sharp edges of the 6S buckle biting into my wrist and it's very annoying. And it's very unfortunate, because otherwise I love this watch. I upgraded from the Forerunner 735XT, which I wore for five years, during three of which I wore it 24/7, and never had any problems at all.

I have got same problem with mine. Did you find solution for the sharp edges?

  • I went from the 645 to the 6S about a week ago and felt the same way. I just received a 20mm minimalist series watch band from "The Watch Steward" and it's so much more comfortable. I also have a band on order from "Nick Mankey Designs", but that one probably will not arrive for at least another month. I found out about both companies from reading through the Garmin forums on reddit.

  • I've started feeling this after a week. Coming from a Forerunner 245 Music that cost half the price but has a much better, softer strap AND the buckle construction is different. On the 245M, the silicone protrudes above the buckle, while the Fenix 6s has the buckle above the silicone, digging deep into my wrist and leaving a mark. I see on this forum that the exact same issue persisted with the Fenix 5. It is a shame that Garmin did not act on this for what, 4 years? with their flagship device. I love the watch but I can have a watch that I have to take off 8 hours a day so the scab on my wrist can recover...
