Do the watches still have manuafcturing issues , with some black background colors having a washed out blue's ish tint" while others are clean with good saturation

I just bought a fenix 6X Sapphire from on online retailer and they have a very strict return policy. If you open the box, you cannot return it, so I am kind of stuck wondering about the product I just ordered. On one hand, I am super excited about the device, but on the other hand, I read in the forums that there was/is (?) a manufacturing issue where some folks who ordered the exact same watch, experienced a "blue'ish"/washed out tint whenever the backlight was pressed, as opposed to the deep, saturated black colors like they show in the pictures.

This thread where this matter was discussed though was from around 5 - 7 months ago. Can anyone advise if this issue has been resolved and if garmin has figured out how to manufacture a consistent product and user experience with these devices yet, or is it still a gamble on which type I may end up with? Unfortunately I have to make a decision on whether to keep it or return it before I am able to even turn it on (according to the return policy of this particular retailer...)

What you may be seeing is the difference in the sapphire glass vs anything with manufacturing. It has a different "look"

Consumer law varies from country to country, but you will often find that "change-of-mind" returns policy differs from "defective, not-as-specified, damaged" policy, which is something that you would only discover on opening.

If you were aware that there might be a problem with the contrast, why did you you choose to buy a watch from a retailer with such a strict return policy.

Very fair question. I wasn't aware of the potential manufacturing issue until after I placed the order on the device and did the additional research during the "downtime" just to learn more about it. That is when I became aware of this matter which prompted me to then check the retailer's return policy which is when I found about their particular stance on garmin products in general

I didn't have a problem with mine, but as you've read many have received one with a poor display. I would suggest returning it unopened and purchasing it from a retailer with a better return policy. If you're located in the US I can recommend a great company.

Check out HeartrateMonitorsUSA.com. Great service, first time buyers discount and great return policy. I had a 945 with a button that just didn't feel the same as the others when pressed but was still working just fine. I called them and within 5 minutes they sent me a new watch and told me to return the old one once I received the new one so I wouldn't have any down time without a device. I'm sure you'd be very happy with them. I been using them for years now.

No problem. They ship fast also. I called them on a Friday afternoon and I had my new watch Monday morning. I believe they're out of Pennsylvania and I'm in Washington state.
