Charging issues question

My new Fenix 6s seems to have a loose connection where the cable attaches. Should I be able to wiggle the charger while it is connected to the watch? Mine has quite a bit of play in it and if it moves at all the charging connection is broken and charging ceases. Like I said, the watch is new (purchased mid April) and I was using the cable that came with it. I contacted Garmin and they sent me a new cable. It is also doing the same thing.

Before I contact Garmin about replacing the watch, I'd like to know if this is expected or if there is actually a defect with my watch.

I appreciate any feedback you can provide.

WIth some cables, I've had to use a pair of pliers to GENTLY press them tighter on the one edge. DO not press in on the long edges of the connector, but a gentle squeeze on the shorter end. I fixed one…

It's normal (unfortunately). Aftermarket cables are typically a bit better.

FWIW, I have an F6Pro. I have two charging cables. Both snap in to the connection socket with a satisfying click and do not wobble in the least. I don't think a wobbly connection will improve with age…

Seems that watch connector is faulty. It should not move and especially not stop charging. Get the watch replaced.

May be a dumb question, but are you sure you are pushing the charging cable connector in all the way on the watch?

Make sure the charging port on the watch is clean by brushing it out with a toothbrush (dry) and pushing the charging cable on with authority.

If that doesn't solve the problem, then I would contact Garmin Support for a replacement.

Not a dumb question. I am sure it’s pushed in all the way. I had a 5s a couple of years ago and don’t recall this being an issue. I also checked the connectors and they are clean.

Mine is pretty wobbly too. Not enough to interrupt the charging but enough to interrupt data transfer while connected to a computer. I think it is one of the dozen quality issues with the Fenix 6. You can try to replace but be aware that you could get a watch with other issues: wobbly buttons, blue tint screen. So you have to decide if you can live with it.
