my weather widget normally seems to update every three hours (7:54am, 10:54am, 1:54pm, etc) which is too infrequent for me as the 3 hour old weather data is often wrong, and now it's been over 3 hours and my weather has still not updated since before 8am this morning. I contacted garmin and asked if I could make it sync more frequently or manually, they told me it is not possible because garmin weather can only sync every 20 minutes? Their response doesn't make any sense. i sent screenshots showing my watch not updating for over 3 hours even after manual syncs, and making sure all my GPS and location services were on on the phone and device and all permissions were correct. If they're telling me it can update every twenty minutes that would be great! but my device weather is only updating 1-2 times a day at this point, which is pretty useless. I really don't understand why my weather data is not syncing properly, and the response from Garmin just confirmed that they didn't even understand what my problem was, because if the watch was actually syncing every 20 minutes, I wouldn't be having a problem with it taking over 3 hours and I obviously wouldn't have requested more frequent syncs.
at the end of the day this is an $800 smartwatch. my phone, my computer, my smart speaker, can all access updated weather data immediately with no problem. Why is this GPS smartwatch that can use satellites and stay constantly connected to my smartphone and wifi not able to update basic weather data? if the GPS data on the watch was 4 hours old, it would be completely useless, weather is the same way.
