Fenix6 corrosion
Fenix6 corrosion
Why does it look like your screw heads are damaged?
At least the one closest to the charge pins
Might just be the photo angle and the low resolution :)
Before you charge it, make it a routine to gently wipe the back of the watch to remove sweat. I have a routine where I wash my watch, let it dry then charge. I make the charging time a routine to clean…
If you are so smart, why you dont work in cysotmer support. You can make your life much happier to help people and to predict whats happening?
Yes, i have cleaned. And yes, im taking cate of my watch.…
It's a slight corrosion, probably caused by plugging it into charge with sweat on the pins. It's utterly cosmetic, and hardly worth such a fuss considering no one will see it. Those pins connect physically with the charging connectors so you're going to see a slight scratching to the pins. The fact you need a macro lens to see it should be a pointer into how inconsequential it is.
Owner of a similar watch with a slight corrosion on one pin and has zero issues because of it
Thank you. So you think its just cosmetic issue and there will no be any problems or damages?
I have had ZERO issues because of it. If it annoys you, every now and then give it a bit of a polish with a cloth just to keep sweat off it. My one pin is slightly discoloured
With me, the top pin near the top of the watch is a little darker than the others.
What garmin watches do you have?
My Fenix 5 and 5x + Sapphire had it - zero issues although with the 5x + it was BARELY noticable and needed to be at a certain angle to be seen
I have a 6 Pro at the moment
Thank you for supporting.

I don't believe this is a common issue - I've had 3 Garmin watches that all have the same connector and have never seen this happen
Agreed, provided proper care is taken.
Never ceases to amaze me that there are people (and I am not suggesting the OP is one of them) who expect to use these watches in situations where they repeatedly get exposed to sweat and other grot yet make no effort to clean them. If you keep them clean by rinsing of any contaminants after use and making sure the charging points are clean and dry before plugging in then, strangely enough, there are fewer problems.
I now await for the deluge of replies that insist that this is ‘”what I do every time yet I still have problems” that surely will follow my highly contentious post.

Yes, i have cleaned. And yes, im taking cate of my watch. No, i dont swim in pool or open water with watch.
If you still care, im from suunto going to garmin. And suunto never had issues like thos. THATS WHY IM asking!
