Fenix 6 sapphire music download issues

New device, I've got Garmin Express on my Mac and added the new Fenix 6 device to Garmin Express.  No content shows up in Garmin Express automatically.  But when I click on the live button that says "Open iTunes", whether it be for songs, playlists, artists, etc., Garmin Express only opens "PODCASTS", not Apple Music.  So, I can transfer over podcasts (which I don't use), but can't get it to actually open up iTunes / Apple Music.  I have a playlist in iTunes / Apple Music that I want to load onto my watch to use during walks/runs/rides.  Any ideas, why only "PODCASTS" is coming up in Garmin Express?

Are there other ways to download music from your Apple Music library / playlist?  Or do I need to now pay for another service like Amazon or Spotify and try to duplicate my playlists?  Thanks.

  • Can't address your issue, as I like podcasts for running, but I've had a fair amount of trouble with the OS X > Express > F6 train.  In my case, the problems have been podcasts that showed up in Express but were long gone and also starting sending podcasts over with the podcast under the wrong title and with 4-digit codes under the wrong name.  I was able to clean up the podcasts by going into the command line and deleting the Apple Music library but I don't remember how I did that, and it wasn't perfect.

You might delete / reinstall Apple Music, assuming your music isn't downloaded.  The world's worst advice but probably about all you'll ever get.

I effing hated Spotify for podcasts because they had to load over wi-fi and the app is TERRIBLE for finding the specific podcasts you want to load, oh, and don't forget to open the app....  Might be better with music because you probably wouldn't change your collection as often as you do with podcasts.

I'll be honest, the podcast implementation that I wear on my wrist massively sucks when it's a Fenix, sucks just as bad when it's Apple podcasts, but does get better with Overcast.

Never tried Amazon music or Deezer with the Fenix.
