Garmin Fenix 6 + HRM-Run Issue

So i've had my Fenix 6 for about a month now and absolutely love it. I recently bought a HRM-Run 4 to get a more accurate heart rate reading.

However, I read that the HRM-Run can also show you more advanced running dynamics; which are called "running dynamics 1" and "running dynamics 2" in my watch. First question; is the HRM-Run compatible with the Fenix 6 or just the Forerunner series?

If it is compatible why does it now show up during my run on my watch and after my run on the Garmin Connect App? If I go to "Run Settings" in my watch it shows that I have "Running Dynamics 1 & 2" in my data screens, so they should show up during my run, but they don't... Has anyone had similar problems or am I not seeing something...

Please help.. 100 euro's for just a chest strap which only reads your heart rate is a bit too expensive in my opinion.

Yes it is compatible. You did connect it in the sensors & accessories in the watch, right? And just so you know, you do not have to have the data fields showing in the run activity on the watch in order for the data to be recorded and visible in Connect.

Yeah I did connect it and I wait before the message "external heartrate sensor connect" shows up before starting my run. I'm really wondering why advanced run dynamics are not showing up on my watch then...

Hmm... no idea then. Try doing a reset on your watch I guess. When you go into the sensor settings can you see that it is connected?

IF you turned the old HRM Run upside down you would not get any sensor readings as far as I remember. So check it is the right way up.

The Run dynamics screens turns up in your list of data screens if everything is ok.

And you can see on Garmin Connect website that Running Dynamics have been registered - like your left/right footfall (vertical ratio). So check there as well.

HRM Run is the right way up. I have selected advanced run dynamics 1 and advanced run dynamics 2 in my data screen at run settings, but as soon as I start my run they dont show up and after my run they dont show either.

Yeah it's either connected or searching and then connects after a few seconds.

And when you open up your Run profile to start a run you can see those a Run Dynamics data fields? You will only see them if the HRM is connected. You start your run and nothing populates those data fields? One other thing you will get in Connect is a populated respiration rate graph if you used the HRM Run for that activity.

Yeah exactly. When I opened Run Profile I could see the Run Dynamic Data Fields. I reset my watch though and updated it to the newest version. It seems fixed now, not sure which of the two fixed it. Thanks for the help!

The post right above yours seems to indicate yes. He says rebooting the watch and/or loading the latest firmware fixed it.
