Fenix 6X Sapphire not syncing with Spotify playlists

So I received my 6X on Friday. Since then I've been trying to download music playlists from Spotify but unfortunately without any success.

The watch is updated with the latest software from Garmin Express currently but I've also tried using Beta 8.78, which returns the same problem. I've tried removing Spotify from the phone and then reinstalling it using both Garmin Express and the connect Q app on my iphone but still no success. The watch screen will stay on Syncing Spotify 0%.complete for a while before Sync failed shows.

One of the reasons I upgraded from my Fenix 5 was to be able to exercise without the need to bring my phone with me for music. This continuous error is causing me regret my decision and seriously considering returning the watch.

Any assistance in rectifying this will be greatly appreciated.
