Bluetooth Connection Problems Android 10

Since the April's security update of Android 10, the Bluetooth connection is not working any more. The connection is always disconnected after a few minutes.

(Build QQ2A.200405.005)

Switching Bluetooth on and off causes the connection to establish again. (But again only for a few minutes)

Opening the Garmin connect app is sometimes enough to establish the connection, sometimes not.

Anyone else has this problem?

I have a Pixel 4XL and it doesn't have this problem with my Fenix 6 Pro

I don't have this problem on my android 10 device. You might want to check your battery saving settings. The garmin connect app should be allowed to run in the background.

I have the same issue although I cannot date it to a specific point in time. In my mind it started more or less when I switched to a new phone and I thought that's actually the culprit. I'm having the exact same issues as you're describing.

Galaxy S10+ here with Android 10 and April updates. Zero problems with Bluetooth and my 6X Pro Solar since getting the watch in December. Also zero problems with Bluetooth and my 5X+ and S10+ prior to that.

Battery optimisation is really the only area for investigation I can think of, unless you have a Huawei device and then all bets are off as they, along with iPhones, seem to regularly face connectivity problems.

Ahoy,

in case u have Huawei, try disable both switches in Optimizer.

Open the Optimizer app and click on the settings icon in top-right corner. Then disable those bitches..sorry I mean switches. :-D

My GF had like the same problem - watches disconnecting every few minutes and mostly not connecting back w/o action. It seems this helped..so far I think.

HOWEVER, it looks like u have a Pixel phone. :-/

Try the excellent app Reconnect Garmin Watch. It will keep your Fenix connected.

It's a bit tricky to setup the first time, but then it works great.

Yes, I have Pixel 3... I had a fenix 2(okay this one had no real smart watch functions), fenix 3, and since it was released the 6x. Never had this kind of problem....

I think I will rebind the watch, reinstall the app and see if anything changes.

Hello, yes, try what others suggest. :-D I just recalled it was the second thing I did on the watch. :-D

Use button to open Options/Settings -> Phone -> Pair Phone.
