Hi everyone,

I just received my firs Garmin Watch, and was very excited about it: a Fenix 6S Sapphire Carbon.

Though what a deception when. i. power it on . . .i Feel the screen is very dark and difficult too see thee informations due to that darkness in indoors as outdoors condition.

So I checked and put on the gesture for the backlight . . and here again what a deception. the screen. of the watch look very blue / purple and the colors quite fade with it . . . I would not have mind it if it was 100 Euros watch, but at 800 Euros . . . . I do not feel like happy. I did try from 10 and 20% luminosity, and it does the same bluish/ purple fade . . .black just do not exist !

I bought it thorough the website of Garmin France. Do you know what the policy of Garmin regarding this ? Would they be ookay to change it ? If so, how long does the process take ?
If not, can i jsut e send the wach and get a refund ?

I contacted them but obviously in a period such like now I am not sur how long it wlll take to hear from them.

I think what gaijin is trying to say is there is an extensive thread on this subject. Try putting

J'ai eu un problème avec une Fenix 6 Solar.

Retour au sav et échange a neuf.

Le SAV Garmin en France se trouve à Nanterre,je vous conseille de les contacter directement,le problème des écrans bleu est assez connu.

Oui d'accord avec Candi.
Avec le Covid19 je ne suis pas certain de leur disponibilité sinon on a la chance en France d'avoir des passionnés à Nanterre. Ils m'ont sorti de la panade sur my 5X et my 5X Plus. (Toutes les deux remplacées pour des soucis de capteur HR et de crash définitif...)
Je leur tire mon chapeau.
Ils sont dispo au téléphone habituellement et hors période de confinement exceptionnelle.

Et en attendant profite de ta nouvelle montre, elle est garantie deux ans et son charme vient que justement: on a pas besoin du rétroéclairage pour l'utiliser en plein soleil !! Et vu la météo depuis quelques semaines... :-)

Normalement tu dois avoir un beau fond noir pas une trace de bleu comme sur les anciennes Fenix 5 ou Fenix 5 Plus.
Sinon autant avoir acheté une Fenix 5S Plus. ;-)
Donc zou, échange la dès que tu peux ! :-)

La loi française te protège pour tout achat via Internet (14 jours minimum, 30 jours sur Amazon...)

Once we finish this use case of making benefit of Google Translate, then I will kindly remind our french friends that there is no point in replacing 6S Pro - both models (standard and Sapphire) are reported with such a blueish backlight.

You can either try to catch Fenix 6 Pro Sapphire or Titanium (the highest ratio of black versus blue backlights reported) if you want something more black. If this is to big - you can either get used to it or find something from different brand.

Yes, pardon my French.
But like I said: bought on the Internet in France you can exchange it for 14 days.
That's the law.
So there is always a way to get a better one (a sapphire 6 if the odds are better). :-)
I was very lucky to get mine in August with a great display... And I have bought it in a shop.
( and I thought back then it was a stupid move to be an early adopter...)

HI Everyone, and thanks too the french and international community.
I'll do it in english this way everyone can understand.

So it seems that Garmin doesnt want to replace it .. I'm trying to push and will keep you updated. a bit disapointed as i said, it may not be "much" for some people but clearly when I spend. 800Euros I'm expecting a product working and not with such a bad backlight quality.
