Does Fenix 6 Work Reliably with ANT+ External Heart Rate Monitors?

Are there known problems with the Fenix 6 when connecting to external HRM through ANT+? My vivoactive 3 only connects to ANT+ external HRMs on an intermittent basis and I don't want to purchase a Fenix 6 if it has the same tendency. I have an Edge 520+ and it connects reliably while my watch does not. I'm very frustrated.

F3HR, 5X+ and 6X Pro Solar all rock solid with Wahoo TickR and TickR X over Ant+ in the past 3+ years. 6X since December. If anyone can get Ant+ right it should be Garmin. They own it, as far as I know…

My F6 has been rock solid with my HRM-RUN (over ANT+). If you have connection problems, I would suspect a low battery in the HRM, or poor connection between strap and skin (pre-moisten the strap at the start of a workout).

Thank you for your reply. I have had problems with three separate monitors -- all with fresh batteries, all of which work just fine broadcasting over Bluetooth and also to an Edge cycling computer at the same time that the watch fails to hold a connection. Since I am getting good data to other devices it seems to me that the strap/skin connection is fine. All signs point to the watch. At any rate, I'm delighted to hear that you are happy with the F6 and your HRM over ANT+. I'm spooked right now.

My fenix 6x Pro has been rock solid with Polar H10, Garmin HRM-Tri and Garmin HRM3-SS over ANT+ - no problems whatsoever.
