Issues reconnecting Bose Soundsport Free Wireless to my Fendix 6 unless I search for them.

Hi,

I set up my Bose Soundsport Free Wireless bluetooth headphones on my Fendix 6 X Pro without any issues.

I also use these headphones on my iPhone.

Each time I turn on the Bose Sound Sport headphones they try to connect to "Watch" but fail to connect and connect to iPhone then without an issue.

I have tried turning off the bluetooth on my iPhone but it still will not connect to "Watch".

How I get around this is I try to play a track on my Fendix watch which then prompts me to connect to the Bose headphones.

Then the watch starts searching for the Bose headphones.

Sometimes the Bose then connect to "watch" but other times they do not.

If this happens I leave the Bose time out and go into "Ready to connect" mode and when the Fendix fails to find the Bose they then normally connect.

Is anyone else having this issue or something like it?

Kind Regards,

John.

  • Yes, I have all the same issues as you do. I find the whole issue annoying as all get out. I don't know what I'm talking about, but I don't believe one should expect the bose earbuds to connect to the watch just because you take them out of their case, iow, I believe you would always have to start playing music on the watch in order for the watch to allow the connection. If I'm wrong then Garmin needs to fix that but I don't think I am. Fenix 5x+ works the same as 6 in this regard.

Personally I'm looking forward to the pixel buds 2 and hoping for a better experience with them

  • John... I have the same headphones..  same kinda deal with my Samsung phone.  Here is what I do..

Turn on the bose first.  Let them "search" all they want.  In my case it will say "connecting too.. phone"...  and if my phone is out of range (like when I run).. it then just says "ready to pair".  At this point I hold down the music button on watch, and it instantly says "connected to watch" and im good to go.

This is annoying, and I think its a Bose issue vs. the watch

  • I have come across the same scenario with more than one version of Bose headphones. My overall impression is that after I pair to my watch, my Bose are so in love with my Fenix 6X Pro Solar that I have to manually go into my iPhone's Bluetooth menu and manually select my Bose headphones to connect to my phone. I have not experienced this same behavior with either my JBL or Sony BT headphones leading me to the conclusion it is the Bose software.

  • Hi Chris,

My Bose seem to be more in love with Apple LOL.

I can change the connection from my Fendix 6 to iPhone by just pressing the bluetooth button on the Bose Soundsport left ear pod and it instantly connects to the iPhone. If I then immediately select the "Watch" again on the Bose it will not connect to the Fendix without having to search for the Bose headphones again on the Fendix 6.

    Kind Regards,

    John.
