Ghost steps also known as Sofa steps

I don't know if it was an issue in past version but in the 8.1 I noticed that the watch count ghoat steps.

I'm able to get sypes watching tv in my sofa. Only moving the arm I'm getting interstint steps activity.

Coach potatoes would get interesting step activity.

How many people get this issue.

I also notice that the warch is not updating the steps at the moment, it onlu update each 10 steps. Is it normal?

Steps are counted based on what your wrist sees. Moving your arm can give you steps, but they are rejected of you get fewer than 10 (just to try to filter out simple arm movement.

You'll get a whole bunch of steps if you play a piano! It's been this way since Garmin first doing step counting. Years ago when I had a fitbit, it was worse, as it didn't have the "10 or more" logic. But people didn't complain, as it was easier to meet their daily steps goal.
