please add sleep widget on watch

why can't garmin make a watch widget for sleep? ... I know that sleep data is processed by the phone,
but the widget could load data from the phone after processing. and ready.

who is in favor of adding such a widget please comment!
I will send an official request to Garmin. because he probably won't even read here :(

  • I agree. Whenever my son (with his $60 FitBit Ace 2 kids' watch that only does like 3 things) tells me he's super jealous of how many more things my watch does, I remind him (somewhat jokingly, but it's also true) that his can show how much sleep he got right on the watch, and I have to sync mine to my phone and look at it there.

AFAIK, it's the only thing every fitbit can do that no Garmin can do, and until the Garmins can do it, they can't say it can do everything the FitBit can do. Seems like it would be a pretty easy feature to add, since like you said, the data is already there - they just need to make a widget that displays it.

  • they should first get sleep analysis right, then worry about widgets..

  • I don't think it's a matter if they can, but if they should.  Garmin doesn't track naps, so the sleep information is just something to check once a day because it's not going to change.  We already have our phones available because of all the features the watch has that needs a phone connection.  You even have to have the phone in range to update and transfer the info to the watch, so why not just look at the data from the phone then?  And just how much detail would a widget provide?  Yes, one could choose to use the widget or not, but it's just something else Garmin would have to maintain, update and troubleshoot when problems arise.  You can always submit the idea on the product suggestion website, but personally, I don't think this it's a necessity and just one more thing that can go wrong with the watch.

  • I agree.

Just start with the basic sleep time and then more details. We have a host of different fitness devices in my family and my Fenix6 costsa more than the rest together (by a long mile). However, it's the only one that doesn't show anything sleep related on the watch itself!

Ummmm....what exactly is wrong with it being in GC since it’s not really an activity?....I look at it once a day after I wake up and from there it’s just part of my historical metrics of which are many...just like my weight....I see the same suggestion for the Index scale but what is to be gained from it as a widget junking up a already crowded rotation of widgets?....

  • I just would not have to reach for the phone so simple a matter. As you have already noticed.

Yeah, I bet Apple will do it...but since this is a sports activity tracking watch of which sleep isn’t .... I’m not in favor of junking up my widgets folder with metrics that have no dynamic value such as my weather or my ABC sensors for example.....like Tess said....they could, but why. It has no dynamic value at this point....like your weight.....report once a day....I also find it to track my sleep pretty accurate too....scary accurate.

  • Sleep data is processed on the servers, not on the watch, so the watch doesn't actually have the data. With the phone, you can easily see the data and adjust the sleep/wake times if needed (the server handles makeing the changes for that)

You can always remove any widgets you don't want to have... if you don't want a sleep widget, then great, don't use a sleep widget. Just because you don't want it doesn't mean it shouldn't be available for anyone else either. If you read the posts in this thread, clearly there is a demand for it, regardless of how you feel about having one.
