Garmin Tactix Charlie seems dead will not charge or turn on

Saw this on another post

Without watch on charger: push and hold the Light button, Up button, and Garmin Start/Stop (upper right) button for 15 seconds. Plug into charger. Should reset watch.

This worked for me as I was in similar situation as you. Watch was completely discharged and would not charge or turn on. Followed above procedure and now it's charging .

Bro thank you, it worked for me. This has been going on for months for me. If let it die it would take days for it to turn on!

Mine just started doing this I have had it for about a year. I cant get it to reset.  Now what? 

Waouw ! Since about four yearsI.. I've the same problem if I don't charge it before it stops.. .. . .. Three calls to the French Garmin help center.. Followed all the advices about this case.. bought three usb câble from Garmin.. And changing cable worked.. But.. It seems that if you leave your watch apart for about six business days (delay for me to get the cable from Garmin to my place) the result is the same.No need to buy a new cable.. But, 5161933, your solution is the best and fastest ..and free! Original USB cable from garmin.. $30 ! I prefer to use these box virtually to share a drink with 5161933! Merci mille fois !!

Nope, no workie. Dead. 

It worked for my watch. Although it showed 77% charge upon reboot so maybe it is a setting that powers it down if not used for a long period. Thanks.

After about 45 attempts, for some reason, the watch reset and is working now, thank goodness.
