Discharge problem

Every time I charge fenix 6 Pro at 100% it drops battery fast and it loses more than 6-8 %  in a few hours before  the hourly battery usage is OK again. Is that a hardware problem? Now I lost 1℅ in 30 minutes and battery widget shows  1,485/hour battery consumption while in battery save mode.

  • Aside from the percentage of battery life indicated on the watch at any given time, is your actual battery life having issues? Or is this just an issue with the percentage battery your watch is saying it has?

I'm just trying to figure out whether or not you're having an actual battery issue, or if the software just isn't reporting the correct values.

The behavior you're describing isn't normal, though, so the first step should be to contact Garmin support and see what they say.

  • I have the same fenix 6 shaphire. 8.1. A aut 16-18% by Day. Before update was 6-7

  • I still use 6.10 and I won't upgrade anytime soon. It just uses too much battery for the first hours after I charge it at 100%. I let the watch in the charger for a while at 100% I don't remove it a few minutes after it reaches 100%.  Also I have another problem I will open another thread. Except a widget for hourly battery usage I don't use other watch faces or apps than the defaults.

  • There are two steps you can try that will often resolve the fast drain battery issue you are describing after having just updated your firmware software:

    - With your top left button, power your watch off and back on again

    - If the fast drain continues, hold down your top left power button until it shuts off, then let go of the button, power it back on again

Fully charge your battery and monitor the drain to ensure it is back to normal averages again.

  • Hello, it was no after software update but every time I charge my watch. For the first 1-2 hours the battery drops fast to 90-93%. Also I have tried these two steps after I have finished charging my watch.
