Fenix 6X Sapphire- blank screen when receiving incoming phone call and screen dulls & fades when navigating settings etc

Hi everyone,

I've started a different thread because when I navigate setting or anything in the watch the screen dulls and then brightens again. It's really frustrating. I've had nearly every Garmin that has been available, this one cost a pretty penny and I've already got problems with it. The watch is only 2months old.

It also has the same problem as in the other threads where if I receive a call the screen goes completely blank.

Any assistance or feedback would be great.

  • What software version? Do you have any CIQ add-ons - watch faces, data fields, apps?

    Have you tried a hard reset - press and hold top left (through the assistance screen) until it powers down?

    have you contacted Garmin Support?

    I only have one watch face downloaded on the watch no add ons when I do the hard reset it blanks the screen also left the watch for about an hour no response.

    I have turned the watch on and off and last but not least have checked for the latest firmware and I believe it is up to date.

    The firmware/software version is - 6.10

    I was going to try to see if I can do a reset through the Garmin express app etc.

    I've not contacted Garmin yet until I have exhausted all options.

    Have you any other thoughts on this if not I'll contact Garmin on Monday.

  • It's possibly not the watch face but it's always best to remove it and try with a stock watch face.

    The latest firmware release is 8.10. If you connect to Garmin Express it will likely apply the update. Garmin will recommend you apply that update before anything else. Once you've updated hard reset before trying again.

    If it's still not working then go to Settings, System, Reset, then Delete Data and Reset Settings. You will have to re-apply your settings and user information.

    Are you sure that 8.1 is the latest at the Garmin website is says 6.1 unless I'm missing something? No matter what I do the watch seems to freeze when attempting to carry out delete data and reset settings or any of the reset settings at all.
