Text messages on fenix 6

If you're getting emails, and you have smart notifications turned on, I can't imagine why you wouldn't be getting texts.

Take a look at your phone permissions, and make sure that Garmin Connect is allowed to use SMS.

If that doesn't work, try forgetting the watch, repairing it, and making sure that all your phone permissions allow Garmin Connect to access SMS, emails, phone, etc.

If that doesn't work, uninstall Garmin Connect and reinstall.

Would expect standard messages to come through. But worth checking Garmin Connect - Notifications - App notifications and making sure messaging app is on.

In that case, I would start looking at the phone. I know some Huawei phones are terrible at porting texts via BT.

What kind of phone?

Can you try pairing the phone with something else that can read texts (car, speaker), and see if the phone can export texts to a different device.

Do you have any setting on your phone that limits or restricts texts from being exported.

Make sure all your SMS app notifications and permissions are set to allowed.

Clear your SMS cache and delete data. Force a stop of your SMS service and restart it.

Hey, mate, I have an IphoneX the phone connects to my car and also my Fenix 3 

I have spoken the Garmin Tech support and they too are at a bit of a loss right now.

How do you force stop an SMS service?

Maybe try a different SMS app and see if that makes any difference.

If you have an iPhone, half the stuff I said can't be done. I'm android.

Take your phone to somewhere they have a fenix 6 on display, and see if they will let you pair it with your phone. Try to find someone with a fenix 6 somewhere who will let you pair your phone with it. See if a different watch works.

If it works, then you know it's your watch, and you can hopefully get it repaired/replaced.

If it doesn't work, then it's your phone.

Did you find a solution? Mine has stopped receiving texts also. I'm using the same iphone x that used to always receive them. All notifications are turned on

No sorry mate, The funny thing is once I sent the email to Garmin a few days later it started to work. But every now a then the messages would stop working but all other notifications seem to work.
