Wi-Fi sync problem - Error code 0500

I am not sure when it started but I am not able to sync via Wi-Fi anymore. It was possible in the past.

When I try to sync directly from my Fenix I have "Unable to connect to Wi-Fi network. Error code 0500" message.

When I try to test the connection in Garmin Connect, everything seems working fine:

I tried to remove network and add it again - it did not solve the problem.

All my other 802.11b devices are still working fine, my Fitbit scale, the laptop I'm typing this on.

I suspect the Garmin Wifi Endpoint is having a problem.

Huh?

Your watch can either use Wifi or BT.

When it uses BT, it's talking to your phone's Garmin App via Bluetooth.

When you're using Wifi, the watch itself is contacting Garmin, nothing to do with…

Yes I've just noticed this problem too. I'm on Beta 7.78.

What's bizzare is that my Vivoactive 3m is giving Wifi errors too, so I think it's something to do with my home wifi, but I haven't changed anything at home either.

I haven't changed my WiFi at home and everything worked in the past.

Yes - agree that it looks like Garmin WiFi issue however it's strange that connection test initiated from GC is successful.

I suspect that it started after last update.

Garmin Connect probably has an entirely different endpoint it uses to connect to the sync backend.

I don't think it's a "Last update" issue because like I said, both my Fenix 6 Pro and my Vivoactive 3m are giving this error this morning - my VA3m hasn't had an update in over 4 months (it's an APAC version) and it was syncing just fine yesterday morning.

GC only initiates the connection between a watch and a router. You can even see on a watch "connecting to..." and then it shows "connection successful"

I am trying from time to time and just ten seconds ago I tried again and... "sync complete" :-)

So you're probably right - it must be an issue on Garmin side.

Maybe someone knows what is error 0500?

Yea my watches now sometimes sync, or sometimes error, or sometimes sync with "Failed to transfer file" messages.

Looks like a temp outage being slowly restored.
