Can't delete a music file that has a "weird" character, and it messes the albums on the watch

hi,

I uploaded to my Fenix 6X mp3. One of the files had a character that appears as a ? in windows (see the attached - I guess some high unicode). On the watch, the album with this file appears, but I cannot drill into it, but even worse - all the albums after it messed - If I'm going to album B, I'm getting songs of album A, going to album C, I'm seeing files from album B, and other weird phenomena.

Now it would be fine if I could delete this file and album, but I can't - from Window's explorer (going to the watch's drive) it gives an error when trying to delete the file / album, and also from Garmin Express - it just cannot access not delete the file or the album. So it's just stuck there messing my library...

Any idea how I can get rid from this file / album on the watch, preferably without resetting the watch? I tried restarting the watch and reconnecting it to the computer

Use a Bootable Linux on USB key, you will see the Garmin as in Windows, I'm sure it will be easiest to delete the file

Try to rename the file from windows then delete it.

Tried that already, forgot to mention, not possible to rename the file

The fact that the f6 is an mtp device doesnt make it easy to acces it through other means... one thing you can try is install mtpdrive and then go through a dos command shell to try and rename the file.

Failing that there's always the reset...
