Who has also the problem, that ascent tracking stops sporadically in backcountry ski activity?
I recognize it, that ascent value stops counting sporadically although altitude is increasing. Than after a while (20-30min), ascent value jumps (e.g. from 303m up to 589m), continue increasing and stops again.
In the protocol of the watch and in GC there are also different values:
I finally found my own examples to share. This was an occasion when it happened and I thought to take a screenshot. It's not the worst instance and it does seem to happen most of the time. Elevation gain suddenly jumps from 100' to 268' in 2.5 minutes and negligible distance.
Hello, Yes I have some similar problem.
Here is a screen shot of one of mine skimo activity : 
We can see 3 pikes one the elevation graph. There are linked to 3 pikes on the speed graph.
On reality, the terrain was uniformly steep and i can't climb at 50 km/m !!
