Garmin Fenix 6s Distance

My Garmin Fenix 6s has started displaying run/bike distance in yards (instead of miles) during activity. I have tried to change the settings, but cannot figure it out.

Any ideas?

That worked like a champ. Thanks for figuring it out and posting it. It really felt like cheat codes from Contra or Super Mario Bros.

This happened to me too. I fixed it by switching the units to kilometers, syncing the watch, then switching the units back to miles and syncing the watch again. You can find the units setting under the general settings for the device in the Connect app.

Have you ever again had your Fenix 6 series watch show an activity summary in yards for the distance after you tried the workaround that customer 5772361 provided above? Thank you!

Thanks for the steer...just had this same issue on my new Fenix 6 Pro (latest firmware 8.10), googled the problem and came across this post.

I thought I must have set one of the data fields incorrectly and it was measuring my run in metres rather than miles......so had stopped short but it was obviously measuring it in yards

This just happened after the last update on my Fenix 6X pro. I'll give the workaround a shot. Thanks!

I'm not sure if the following was the result of a recent update to my Fenix, or some strangeness after I cleared all activities from the history.

When I initially set up my Fenix, I set the units to be statute (miles). I verified this on my Fenix, in GC mobile, and GC web site.

My Fenix 6 now displays run and ride distance elapsed in metric units (0.00 km).

Pace is still displayed as time/mile.

Any insight as to how to change this so distance elapsed is displayed in miles?

Doing a power cycle did not work. Nor did changing units on the Fenix and then synching w/ GC.

Same here with latest SW v13.10. 4.5 mile run showed as yards. Even the in-activity distance data fields showed yards during the run. Yards isn't even a choice in the units menu. Sometimes miles are displayed. I'll try the Mile=>KM=>Mile unit swap to see if it is fixed.

Just had this happen t my Fenix 6X Pro, followed these steps and it's back to normal operations again.
